It’s been a while

I’m busy teaching Museum Studies at SF State University, refurbing my place near Sonora in the Sierra Foothills, and getting back into the swing of making art after a bad car accident in the fall of 2022. Since my last post I’ve done a fair amount of exhibition curation and consulting with museums, as well as some traveling including my first visit to Washington DC, another trip to Oaxaca, Mexico and trips to New York, Savannah, Seattle, Nashville, Palm Springs and Los Angeles. Wherever you travel, there is so much art to see and appreciate!

I’ve been making collage work for a while now and our collage group has just started another round under the Round Table Collaboration project run by Marty McCutcheon.

A small dark umbrella tilts to the right and sits above a small black card tilted left with white text that reads "THE MYSTERY CALCULATOR" which sits in part of a seed packet for Heirloom California Poppies, Native Orange. Under the seed packet is a deep horizontal band of white ferns scattered in a random pattern over a dark background.
Collage starter piece, September 2024.

Collage starter for the next Round Table Collaboration. Our group includes Liz Tamayo, Patrick Hayashi, Hunter Harris and Lois Cantor and we’ve been doing this for years.
